CaseLink Trust Center
Corrections Policy
CaseLink should correct records when better information is available while preserving source context, review history, and safety.
Effective: July 25, 2026
1. What can be corrected
Correction requests may involve names, dates, locations, case status, agency information, duplicate records, source links, document metadata, public summaries, map coordinates, and visibility concerns.
2. What to include
A correction request should identify the affected page or record, explain what is wrong, provide the corrected information, and include a reliable source when available.
3. Review standard
Corrections may be reviewed against primary sources, official records, public agencies, document metadata, prior submissions, audit history, and safety concerns.
4. Public-source conflicts
When public sources conflict, CaseLink may preserve both sources, mark uncertainty, prioritize official records, or restrict display until the issue is reviewed.
5. Rejected corrections
A correction may be rejected if it is unsupported, abusive, unsafe, duplicative, speculative, legally problematic, or contradicted by stronger public records.
6. Review history
CaseLink may retain correction history, rejected edits, audit logs, and review notes to prevent repeated errors and preserve accountability.
